Lady Antebellum gave a stellar performance at Cricket Wireless in Bonner Springs on Friday August 21, 2015. Their genuine appreciation for their fans and immense love of music was evident throughout the evening.
Performing many of their top singles such as “Bartender”, “Run to You”, “American Honey”, and “Just a Kiss”, the band had the audience singing right along. In fact, the audience was so supportive and interactive they even had Hilary Scott choked up a couple times as her eyes welled with tears. These beautiful moments helped show just how much all of this means to the group, and that they definitely aren’t taken any of it for granted.
Charles Kelley took the time to thoroughly introduce every member of the band, except the drummer who Hillary introduced as her wonderful husband. Charles made sure to give each member the proper attention and credit they deserved, and it was apparent that this entire band has come to form a family.
Hunter Hayes joined the band on stage to perform “Compass” and blew audience members away with his amazing talent on the mandolin. Although his talent was shown during his own set, while opening for the band, this performance really set him apart and displayed the true talent this young man possesses. Gasps could be heard throughout the amphitheater, and everyone including Hillary and Charles were talking about just how impressed they were by Hunter and his musical ability.
Then in a move that surprised everyone, Lady Antebellum tells fans they want to get closer to them and once they began singing “Love Don’t Live Here” they left the stage and walked through the crowd to the B Stage setup in the general admission section. Once arriving at the B Stage Lady A introduces the song “One Great Mystery”, expressing how much it means to the band members, and that it is the most significant song to them off the latest album. After a couple more songs, and a touching thank you to military families the band returns to the main stage, while appropriately performing “I Run To You”, as they run through the crowd.
Back on the main stage Hillary belts out a phenomenal cover of Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine”, before the band is once again joined by Hunter Hayes, and then adds Sam Hunt to the mix to perform a fun cover of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way”. The set came to a close as the band graciously thanked all the fans for their support, and performed hit single “Lookin’ For A Good Time”.
The band wasn’t gone for long though as the audience loudly requested an encore, bringing Lady Antebellum back to the stage. Although already performing a long set where they left absolutely everything on stage, the trio was able to give audience members a few more including fan favorites, “Need You Now” and “We Owned The Night.”
Overall it was an amazing night of music that provided audience members with a genuine and heartfelt performance from a band they love. There wasn’t an audience member anywhere that left the venue disappointed, and most if not all left with a new and stronger appreciation for this amazing group, the musical talent they possess, and the wonderful people they are and show throughout their performances. This is a band that not only has the amazing talent to take them far, but the wonderful personalities to back it up leaving fans everywhere overwhelmingly happy for them and wishing them the very best.
