Long Cut is an up and coming country rap group made up of friends Bryan Thomas and JT Adams, whose once individual careers merged into a high energy, family friendly style of country rap. Bryan, who had always wanted to create a country rap project, got together with JT to create this soulful new wave sound. The pair have performed with artists such as Demun Jones and The Lacs, at Greeley Stampede with Aaron Watson, and just last month at Loudfest 2018 with Twang and Round.
We caught up with the friends to find out a little bit more!
CN: Would you please tell us a little bit about yourselves for our fans who may not be familiar with you?
LC: We are Long Cut. Bryan Thomas & JT Adams— two artists who love music and being original. We are best friends, so it can’t get much better.
CN: When did your music career begin? Did it start at an early age or begin sometime after?
LC: We have both been on this journey for a long time. Combined years… we’d put it around 16 or 17 years, playing every genre across the board; that’s what makes us unique. 😉
CN: Do either of you play instruments?
LC: We both play the guitar, beat on a desk, and whistle pretty good.
CN: How did your friendship come about? Was there any particular moment that made the friendship a real deal?
LC: We’ve been friends since day one, that’s just the type of people we are. If we’re gonna hang with you, then you’ve gotta be our kind of people.
CN: Where did you get your band name “Long Cut”?
LC: We dip, spit and felt it fit. We always say it! “Yo JT, throw me that Long Cut”
CN: It’s been said that you mutually shared a love and respect for the classics, any one song or band in particular?
JT: I really enjoy Randy Travis.
BT: JT Adams.
CN: You’ve shared the stage with notable Country Rappers, but is there any one performer, country rapper or otherwise, you’d love to perform or even tour with?
LC: Our boy Demun Jones, hands down.
CN: You’ve performed with Demun Jones & The Lacs, what if anything have you learned from the seasoned professionals?
LC: What’s next? Keep moving!
CN: Just what does the hashtag #SpitCupPosse mean?
LC: That’s our fans, our people and family.
CN: You’ve recorded 12 songs to be released. Any details about that or future appearances?
LC: It’s more than 12 now. We’ve got big moves happening. Actually… y’all can be the first to know that we just signed a deal with ********* … so the next move is gonna be big 😉
