Nashville, TN – The Shires, the UK’s best-selling and most successful Country music duo of all time – comprised of Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle – today release their soul-stirring new album, 10 Year Plan. Taking their biggest influences and condensing them into one cohesive, confident record, the 13-track project reminiscences about the duo’s big city dreams and hopeful mindset from when they were just starting out in 2012. Listen to 10 Year Plan HERE.
Today, The Shires were also presented with another CMA Award. Celebrating their outstanding achievements, the duo won the coveted Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award for furthering the popularity of Country music and the Country music format throughout the UK.
“We are so excited to finally have our new album 10 Year Plan out,” says The Shires. “We celebrate 10 years together as duo next year, and this album looks back at every point on that journey – all the milestones we have had. Our hope is that this album can be the soundtrack to uplift spirits and enable us all to create new happy memories. We hope you enjoy it”.
Opening with the Country-Pop, rushing track “Cut Me Loose,” the Shires bring their delicately lush harmonies together for tracks like “Sparks Fly and “A Bar Without You,” before closing with the classic pedal steel guitar of the timelessly beautiful “When It Hurts.” Produced by Lindsay Rimes (Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett), 10 Year Plan boldly delivers the duo’s Pop-orientated, globally transcendent twist on Country music, continuing to demonstrate that Country music created with affinity and ambition can cut through stereotypes.
Earle and Rhodes first broke through in 2014 with their debut single “Nashville Grey Skies,” a playful song about Britain needing its own Country music scene; something they helped accomplish with their 2015 debut album Brave, which became the first-ever Top 10 album by a UK Country music duo. From there, their accomplishments speak for themselves: three consecutive UK Top 3 albums (2016’s My Universe, 2018’s Accidentally On Purpose and 2020’s Good Years), four No. 1 UK Country albums, 100+ million streams, two Gold-certified records, and countless sold-out headlining shows.
And, when they came across the pond, their genuine authenticity was fully embraced by Nashville’s Country music community, making them the first-ever British act to win a coveted CMA Award and to perform in the historic circle at the Grand Ole Opry.
Mainstays at the annual C2C Festival, the duo has shared stages with some of Country music biggest stars such as Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, Shania Twain and Sam Hunt.
The Shires stirring new album, 10-Year Plan, is out now. Cheers to the next 10 years!
