17th Annual Miller Harris Memorial Golf Tournament To Take Place September 12, 2016 At Temple Hills Country Club in Nashville

Proceeds Benefit the Miller Harris Asthma Camp for Kids

NASHVILLE – The 17th Annual Miller Harris Memorial Golf Tournament will be played Monday, September 12th at Temple Hills Country Club.  The tournament benefits the Miller Harris Foundation, an IRS 501(c)(3) organization that supports the Miller Harris Asthma Camp For Kids, in partnership with the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.  Each year the camp hosts inner-city asthmatic children ages 6-13 whose health could make attending a regular summer camp difficult. Campers attend at no charge to their families.  The camp offers a full range of outdoor activities and provides on-site doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists from Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital that monitor the campers and provide training on ways to better manage their asthma.

The format for the tournament is a four-person, best ball scramble and is open to the public.  The cost per golfer is $200.  Team sponsorships are available for $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000.  Shotgun start is at 10:00 a.m.  Food and beverages are served on the course throughout the day and the evening finishes with a cocktail dinner and awards party.  All golfers will receive a gift bag with a memento of the tournament.  Players will be eligible for terrific prizes including an automobile from Beaman Toyota and $10,000 in cash.

Information and registration for the tournament can be found at www.millerharrisfoundation.org.

The Miller Harris Foundation was founded in 2002 by family and friends of Miller’s following his death from a sudden asthma attack.  Miller was the son of Nashville publishing icon Judy Harris.
