Releases New Single and Music Video, “Guitars and Gasoline”
Nashville, Tennessee – The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) reigning “Male Artist of the Year,” Brett Kissel just announced part two of his extensive We Were That Song tour, which will kick-off in September 2018. The first leg of the tour, which took Kissel across Canada earlier this year was marked as one of Canada’s most extensive tours. For the first time in recent history, Kissel’s tour will reach nationwide status, with every province and territory hosting a Brett Kissel show.
“My goal for this tour was to play for as many fans as possible. I was so thankful for the response my team received across Canada. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to fit all the dates into my schedule,” said Kissel. “I told my agent ‘we just have to organize part two of this tour for the fall’ so we can hit all the spots we missed in the first quarter of 2018. It seems like we’ve now made this one of, if not the most extensive tour in Canadian music history!”
Tickets for the We Were That Song tour are now on sale. Country newcomer, Dan Davidson, who joined Brett on many of his tour dates earlier this year will join Kissel once again as a special guest on select dates for the second part of the tour.
Earlier this year, Kissel received the CIMA Road Gold Award for part one of the Canadian tour, recognizing a high level of achievement during a touring period. The award is proudly displayed on Kissel’s mantle beside his most recent gold single, “Cool With That,” which was certified Gold while on tour.
Among his other accolades, he was the first Country artist in 17 years to win a JUNO Award (Canadian Grammy) for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” (since Shania Twain) and he was named the “International Artist of the Year” at the 2017 Worldwide Radio Summit in Hollywood, CA (an honor bestowed upon Ed Sheeran and Adele in the last two years respectively). He is the 2017 Canadian Country Music Awards’ “Male Vocalist of the Year;” 4x Winner at the 2016 CCMA Awards, 6x Billboard Canadian Top 10 Singles chart, and more (see here).
This summer, Kissel has kept busy with the recent release of his new single “Guitars and Gasoline,” as well as promoting the release of the corresponding music video, which was captured during the first part of the We Were That Song tour. Watch the video here:https://youtu.be/mWeYcbK0wtw.
He made many appearances during CMA Fest 2018, which included performances on The Maui Jim Broadway Stage at Hard Rock Cafe, B.B. Kings, and Margaritaville; and signings at Fan Fair X, Craig Campbell’s Celebrity Cornhole Challenge and The City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game.
Growing up on a cattle ranch in northeastern Alberta played a big role in Kissel’s music. His family operates a successful cattle ranch with Angus and Speckle Park-cross cattle. Kissel’s ranching background garnered him attention in the agricultural and rodeo communities across Canada.
