Single to #31 Mediabase & #33 Billboard

NASHVILLE, TN – 2018’s best new country artist debut, Mitchell Tenpenny’s “Drunk Me” is making compelling chart increases this week.

With over 53 million career audio and video streams to date, the Riser House/Columbia Nashville singer/songwriter lands the #24 position on Nielsen’s Country On-Demand Audio Streaming chart with the lead single from his self-titled EP.  Just over three months ago, Tenpenny made history with “Drunk Me” by achieving the highest entry ever for a new artist on Nielsen’s On-Demand Audio Core Country Streaming chart. His single debuted at #39 with 1.5 million streams.

With a 5-slot upward move to #31 on the Mediabase chart and jump to #33 on Billboard, “Drunk Me” received a lift this week as Mitchell Tenpenny was selected as the latest iHeartCountry On The Verge Artist. The program includes on-air exposure as well as significant digital and social support across iHeartMedia’s network of country radio stations and websites, and has proven instrumental in the development of such successful and highly credible emerging artists as Sam Hunt, Maren Morris and Luke Combs.

In late March, Tenpenny officially impacted country radio with his debut single, “Drunk Me,” garnering 60 combined Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase stations. With 52 Mediabase adds, his impact add week total was the best for a country debut single in two years, since label mate Maren Morris debuted with “My Church” in January 2016.

Co-produced by Tenpenny and Jordan M. Schmidt, “Drunk Me” was co-written by Tenpenny, Schmidt and Justin Wilson. It is one of five songs included on entertainer’s self-titled EP on Riser House/Columbia Nashville, showcasing his rich, gritty, soul-infused music that is tethered in themes intrinsic to the South. In the last year, Tenpenny completed an extensive national radio promotion tour the first part of ‘18, and also opened for Dustin Lynch’s Ride or Die Tour and Maren Morris’ Renegade Revival Run. He has also performed with Jake Owen, Brett Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more.

A Nashville native with an industry pedigree (his grandmother was Donna Hilley, the esteemed, CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing), Mitchell Tenpenny comes from fertile ground with musical influences as far-flung as Michael Jackson, John Mayer, the Oak Ridge Boys, and R. Kelly. He co-wrote the Top 5 hit, “If the Boot Fits,” for Granger Smith.

Tenpenny was the flagship artist for Riser House, which is a full-service label, artist management, and music publishing company founded by Matt Swanson, Jennifer Johnson and Mitchell Tenpenny. As the result of a new joint-venture, Sony Music Nashville and Riser House announced Tenpenny’s signing to Riser House/Columbia Nashville in January.
