“I knew I wanted to propose to Jenny in front of her family. They’re such great people and I already feel like they treat me like family,” Wakefield told People. “I was originally going to put it in a crab shell, but luckily I was talked out of that one. The most important thing was that I wanted to surprise her. I did it at a lakeside restaurant in Maryland when we were on vacation with her family. She had NO IDEA it was coming, so I think I got her pretty good.”
We met at a time when neither of us were looking for a relationship, so we got to know each other organically,” said Leigh. “Our musical connection intensified our bond and continues to do so. But most of all, life just wouldn’t feel right without each other in it.”
In May, Wakefield announced group project Texas Hill along with Boyd and fellow American Idol contestant Casey James. The trio has already released three singles – “Four Roses,” “Darkest Sky,” and “Easy On The Eyes.” Their debut, self-titled EP comes out September 25th.
As an independent artist, Leigh has released a number of successful singles – including “Old Oak Tree” in 2019 and, most recently, “Where The Real Love Starts” – a collaboration with Wakefield. Her acting credits include CMT hit show Nashville and Lifetime original movie Patsy & Loretta, where Leigh played the late Jan Howard.
