Undeniable Hippie-Country Song of the Summer
NASHVILLE, TN – Meet Alyssa Micaela. Rising country artist, Odessa, TX native, Liz Rose Music songwriter, and the dynamic voice behind “Tie Dye,” her latest single released June 5th. The second song from her forthcoming EP, “Tie Dye” is a psychedelic-twang breath of fresh air that speaks to self-love, expression, and personal confidence. In the midst of a global pandemic, Pride month, and the brutal fight against racism, the message couldn’t be more welcome.
“I believe that being different is what makes our world so fascinating and inspiring,” Micaela notes. “That everyone should have scream-from-the-mountaintops kind of pride in who they are, regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, or any other ‘category’ we’ve created to label our own kind. That self-love is what we wrote the song about. I think if we all took a giant step back and looked at the world and all its people, we’d give ourselves a chance to see the ‘Tie Dye’ masterpiece God has created.”
The video, directed by Quinton Cook, is an array of bright colors as beautiful as the bell-bottom pants that Micaela tie-dyed herself and features an airstream party with a bunch of her friends. “I am half white and half Mexican, the people in the video are my friends. One of the most important things to me was making sure we showed diversity because the whole message of the song is about being exactly who you are and owning it.”
Her own brand of hippie-country rings true on her previous single “Mad Love,” which features Platinum-selling and GRAMMY nominated artist, Eric Paslay. Signed to CAA, she has opened up for mega-acts such as Willie Nelson, Eli Young Band, and Aaron Watson. When Micaela is off the road she has continued to hone her songwriting craft under the mentorship of Rose and other top-tier collaborators within the Nashville community. With over 7 million Spotify streams she has cemented herself as an artist to watch in country music.
“Tie Dye” is out everywhere music is available, with the video live on YouTube today.
So as the lyric states, turn it up, “get a pack of Hanes at CVS and just go wild.”
