Canadian country artist Amanda Jordan is celebrating the official video for her current single, “Tonight I Am” on YouTube.
Since its release, the video has reached 200K YouTube views and Amanda was also recognized for “Tonight I Am” as the CMT Next Up Now Artist for July, allowing the video to be seen in television rotation on CMT Music.
Written by Amanda with Mason Thornley, Brian Fuller, and Joël Bruyère (who also produced), “Tonight I Am” is a reflective country single that seamlessly blends themes of heartbreak, understanding, and empowerment.
Recorded in Nashville, it follows “You Don’t Wanna Know” – which earned over 600K YouTube views for its video and reached the Top 5 on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country – as the second single from the artist’s upcoming debut album. Amanda co-produced the video with Jeff Isy.
Speaking about “Tonight I Am”, Amanda says, “We wrote this song to take a closer look at what happens in the aftermath of heartbreak and betrayal. In her quest for closure, a woman seeks out the same bar where her ex met another woman during their own relationship. In many situations like this, you’re never going to find all of the answers, but you need to be at peace with not knowing everything and – most of all – become strong enough to move on.”
Originally from Smiths Falls – just outside of Ottawa, Canada – Amanda left for Nashville as a young adult. Since then, she has earned over 6 million digital streams from 11 previous single releases and gained over 100K new fans on TikTok. Her biggest highlight to date was the 2022 single, “I Choose You”, which earned 2 million Spotify streams on its own and reached #21 on the US Country Billboard Sales Chart, and #2 on the US iTunes Country Chart after Amanda performed it on ABC’s “The Bachelor”.
Amanda has also been a recent semi-finalist in the Sirius XM Top of the Country 2023 Competition and a finalist in CBC Music’s 2023 Searchlight Competition, to go along with a series of acting credits including “Christmas in Maple Hills” (FOX Nation), “Rush For Your Life” (Tubi), “Holly Hobbie” (BYUtv/Hulu), and “Feeling Butterflies” (The Hallmark Channel).
With the video release of “Tonight I Am”, Amanda is tapping into her prowess as singer, songwriter, and actor to capture the emotions lurking in relationships that are irreparably broken.
Amanda’s next single, “Can’t Keep Her”, will arrive on August 2nd.
