A relationship that begins in the womb, the bond between a mother and daughter is something beyond special. It is nurturing. It is pure. Amanda Kate and her mother had that very type of connection. So much so that they wrote songs together, such as “Healing When I Ride,” which was featured on Amanda’s debut album Time released last year.
During time of hurt and need, people turn to what calms them, what brings them peace. Amanda’s mother, who was battling cancer, would turn to her horses and ride, while Amanda herself who grew up near a ranch, rode to also heal her mind and heart. A mother and daughter both turning to the same exercise to heal themselves, and each other. There’s that bond.
When it came time to film a music video for the song, the subject matter was an obvious choice. Amanda and her mom surrounded by the horses they love.
Unfortunately Amanda’s mother recently lost her battle with cancer. She has lost her best friend in this life but through the song’s music video, released today via Cowgirl Magazine, she will live on forever on film and in her heart.
Our thoughts are with Amanda Kate and her family.
