Originally from Louisberg, North Carolina, Nick Tabron is now creating undeniable footprints in Nashville, Tennessee. A versatile Singer-Songwriter, Tabron has graced prestigious venues like City Winery in correspondence with CMT and mTheory. His music, notably his single, “Exodus,” showcases a rich tapestry of influences and genres. This original composition captured the attention of Miller Beer Company, leading Tabron to put his unique spin on the iconic Miller High Life 1979 commercial, “If You’ve Got The Time.” leading to his music being aired on YoCo Radio and iHeart Radio. Notably, Tabron recently graduated form the esteemed American Academy of Country Music OnRamp Program’s Inaugural Class for 2023-24, a program in which focuses on improving inclusivity and equity within Music City and aims to empower the next generation of leaders in the early stages of their careers. Now, Tabron is back with his latest single “Drunk Text” released on July 17.
“Drunk Text” is a humorous song inspired by a real-life experience,” says Tabron. “At the time the song was born I was working an overnight shift at Marriott in 2016 with my friend Sarah. One night while we were working together, she began receiving hilarious drunk texts. Since I always carried my guitar with me, even to work, I spontaneously started crafting a playful tune based on her messages. And that’s how the song “Drunk Text” came to life.”
Tabron has spent many years perfecting his new single “Drunk Text”, as the original demo was recorded back in 2017 during one of his initial songwriting sessions in Nashville. The final version available now was meticulously crafted in Brooklyn, New York, in collaboration with producer Zach Golden. Zach boasts an impressive portfolio, having worked with esteemed brands such as ESPN, Audi, Nissan, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Verizon, and GoDaddy. Tabron is a part of North Carolina based 4th Quarter Time record label.
This special release also showcases the talent of TSU’s Grammy-winning Aristocrat of Band Director, Larry Jenkins, who lends his trumpet skills. Jenkins not only led TSU’s band to their Grand Ole Opry debut but also contributed his exceptional musicality to enhance the track. Tabron is confident that this release will have a significant impact on listeners.
Tabron has graced stages ranging from the lively Nashville Hot Chicken Festival to intimate settings in New York, Nashville, Chicago, Raleigh, to The First Art Museum. His performances never fail to captivate audiences of all sizes. His musical style blends slide guitar-driven upbeat rhythms with soulful, stripped-down performances, aiming to spread positivity with each note. With his upcoming release of “Drunk Text” he aims to attract a diverse audience, and create meaningful connections through his music.
