It was a big morning for music in its entirety with the announcement of the 2017 Grammy nominees, including those in the country music industry.
Sturgill Simpson, who made waves with his controversial comments on the country music industry this past fall, is the only country album nominated for Album of the Year for A Sailor’s Guide to Earth, while Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris stand strong in the all-genre Best New Artist category. Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott also secured two nominations for her family Christian album, Love Remains.
