Wrapped North America Leg Of Shania Twain’s NOW Tour In Las Vegas
On Saturday (8/4); Tour Heads To The UK
LOS ANGELES – Blue Rose Music singer/songwriter Bastian Baker appeared on Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family” on Friday (8/3) prior to taking the stage on Shania Twain’s NOWTour at Staples Center that night. Before performing his current single “All Around Us” on the show, hosts Debbie Matenopoulos and Fabio Viviani chatted with Bastian about “All Around Us,” touring with Shania Twain and what’s to come, leaving Matenopoulos raving “we just can’t get enough of you, Bastian.”
In case you missed it, watch Bastian on Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family” HERE.
Last week, Bastian released the official music video for “All Around Us” exclusively on Billboard (watch HERE). The video is a direct reflection of the song’s message – empowering people to look for the silver linings “all around us” and embrace positivity. The song is a taste of what’s to come from Bastian’s debut American album – slated for an October release.
On Saturday night, (8/4) Bastian wrapped the North American leg of Shania Twain’s NOW World Tour at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The “singing sensation” (Tennessean) has had no trouble “making audiences swoon with his lighthearted acoustic tracks and contagious smile” (Billboard) while out on the 45-show run which kicked off on May 3 in Tacoma, WA.
Twain took to Twitter to share she’s “really glad we got to bring Bastian Baker out for the #ShaniaNOW tour. Such a talented guy!” Bastian recently shared, “this woman… a legend, an icon, but mostly an amazing person I discover a bit more every day.”
PRAISE FOR BASTIAN BAKER ON SHANIA TWAIN’S NOW WORLD TOUR IN NORTH AMERICA:
“think Shawn Mendes meets Thomas Rhett meets Ryan Tedder”
– Tampa Bay Times
“charismatic”
– Rolling Stone
“making audiences swoon with his lighthearted acoustic tracks and contagious smile”
– Billboard
“we honestly can’t think of a better duo.”
– Young Hollywood
“A sultry voice with the looks to match, Baker had many women in the crowd screaming for more.”
– Argus Leader
“When he was 17, Baker quit the Swiss national hockey team to pursue a career in music. Good call.”
– Cleveland Plain Dealer
“Opening act Bastian Baker of Switzerland brought the coffee shop to the arena, with upbeat pop rock of the rom-com trailer variety. He had a confident stage presence and pleasant voice — attributes you might expect from a former coach on the Belgian version of The Voice — and he sounded best when he approached folk-adjacent melodies. He had a capo in his pocket, covered “Hallelujah” in the style of Jeff Buckley, and gave a special shout-out to fellow Swiss national and Nashville Predators captain Roman Josi,
even donning a Josi jersey.”
– Nashville Scene
“Born for the arena”
– Popdust
“Singing sensation”
– Tennessean
“A charming acoustic opening set that contrasted well with Twain’s powerful hits. Twain brought the Swiss singer back later to help perform the duet “Party for Two” — to the audience’s delight.”
– The StarPhoenix
“Swiss troubadour”
– Boston Globe
“Bastian Baker walked out on stage with a smile on his face, warming up the early crowd with his acoustic, heartfelt songs and witty banter.”
– Music Mayhem Magazine
“Opener Bastian Baker joined Twain to sing “Party for Two,” and the engaging performer really enlivened the tune (and sang with a bit more energy than Twain).”
– Cleveland Scene
“Got the crowd moving and off their feet, swinging their hands in the air and clapping to the beat.”
– Music Mayhem Magazine
“Bastian was a great opener with an incredible personality and even better talent, making him the perfect fit for a run with Shania Twain.”
– Music Mayhem Magazine
“…Bastian Baker is a crowd pleaser.”
– Sarasota Post
“sort of a folk rock cat from Switzerland along the lines of Spirit of the West”
– Edmonton Journal
“A personable six-song set that allowed him to win over an impatient crowd with his tenor and sense of humor. Plus, his cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” was outstanding.”
– Cleveland Plain Dealer
“The guy who essentially discovered him was Claude Nobs, the late founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Yeah, THAT one, in Baker’s native Switzerland, the one that Deep Purple referenced in “Smoke on the Water.”
– Cleveland Plain Dealer
“His set consisted of him, standing center stage in front of thousands of people, with just his acoustic guitar, and owning that crowd for his 30-minute set. Along with his original material, Baker’s stirring version of the Cohen classic “Hallelujah” had the crowd won over to his side.”
– Herald Whig
“A handsome Swiss singer-songwriter who is a major star in Europe lent his voice, guitar and personality”
– New Orleans Advocate
“Bastian Baker opened the show and impressed”
– Arkansas Times
“Opening the night was Switzerland based act Bastian Baker, who set the tone for the night with one of the best covers of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ you’ll ever hear. Baker, who is also a judge on Belgium’s version of The Voice got the crowd going with references to the Red Wings, would also join Twain for ‘Party of Two’ and ‘Swingin’ with my Eyes Closed’.”
– National Rock Review
“Opener Bastian Baker took the challenge of facing someone else’s room alone armed only with an acoustic guitar and turned it to his advantage, addressing the crowd in French (he’s from Switzerland, not that you’d guess it from the subtle Nashville twang of his singing voice), performing the ubiquitous Hallelujah in its composer’s home town, and even returning late in the headliner’s set for a pair of duets. Stardom looks like his for the taking.”
– Montreal Gazette
“women have been lining up to meet at his merch table as soon as he finishes his nightly duties as Twain’s warmup act.”
– The Times
“Baker certainly didn’t lack for confidence, taking command of the crowd right away with his witty banter and bubbly nature.”
– Salt Lake City Herald Extra
“He got the crowd moving and grooving and really had a great stage presence. From the moment he took the stage, everybody seemed to be drawn in, enjoying the music and it continued throughout his entire set.”
– The Odyssey
“affable”
– Des Moines Register
