BELIZE CITY, Belize – Billboard No. 1 singer-songwriter Dustin Collins returns to Shisha 8, the first hookah and billiards lounge in Belize City, for the popular venue’s grand re-opening on Aug. 12. Shisha 8 recently completed a remodel that more than doubled their space and capacity. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the celebration, which will also include giveaways, drink specials and more.
Shisha 8 offers a cozy indoor and outdoor space with an atmosphere that acts as a place for friends, wanderers and adventurers to share a drink, eat a meal, enjoy a hookah and listen to good music together.
Collins, a Georgia-born and Kentucky-raised entertainer, has built a strong international fanbase during his numerous performances in Belize. This past July, he traveled to the country to capture video content for his upcoming Workin’ Man album release.
He also spotlighted the country’s beautiful scenery on a previous trip where he performed his own music and classic covers. Country Rebel exclusively debuted his mashup of The Kentucky HeadHunters’ “Dumas Walker” and Confederate Railroad’s “Queen of Memphis” to its over 8.6 million Facebook followers.
Collins released his second single from Workin’ Man, “When She Had Georgia on Her Mind,” on June 24. Raised Rowdy exclusively premiered a first listen to the “callback to the classic country sound of the ’90s.” Workin’ Man was produced by industry veterans Buddy Cannon (Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, Reba McEntire) and Bill McDermott (Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley).
A portion of proceeds from the album will benefit GUMI (Glad You Made It) Camp USA. GUMI focuses on providing U.S. veterans with the tools they need to help them heal after deployment overseas and enable them to re-enter society. The camp is located on a 258-acre piece of property in southeast Taney County, Mo. Veterans may reside without cost to them and heal at their own pace.
Workin’ Man follows Collins’ latest album, It’s Been Awhile, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers South Central Albums chart. His independent single “Cold Dead Hands” ascended to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart. Collins also earned a slot on Aaron Watson’s Vaquero Tour and has opened for Tanya Tucker, Shenandoah, Clay Walker, Chris Janson, Kane Brown, Granger Smith and many more.
