Bobby Bones’ Memorable 2017 Marked By Groundbreaking Achievements and New Ventures As He Continues To Expand “Triumphant” (Billboard) Career

Whirlwind Year Includes Induction Into Prestigious National Radio Hall of Fame
and CMA Award for National Broadcast Personality of the Year

Nashville, TN –– iHeartMedia’s Bobby Bones has been called “the biggest name in Country music” (Austin American-Statesman), and his remarkable 2017 is continuing to reinforce that title. Between impressive honors and new endeavors, it has been a year to remember for the radio personality, who is continuing to build upon his “monumental career” (The Ringer).

Most recently, Bones was honored with a Country Music Association award for National Broadcast Personality of the Year for his nationally syndicated The Bobby Bones Show. The award recognizes the show’s undeniable success, with a devoted fan base of 9 million+ listeners weekly between his weekday and weekend shows on 100+ stations across the country. The honor came shortly after Bones was inducted into the National Radio Hall Of Fame (11/2), making him the youngest ever inductee, joining the ranks of radio greats such as Dick Clark, Paul Harvey, Larry King, Bob Kingsley and Howard Stern.

Bones also continued to expand his reach beyond radio, launching the Nashville Podcast Network, an eclectic collection of seven podcasts from a variety of Nashville-savvy hosts, including Country artists such as Kristian Bush and Jake Owen. The network gives listeners an inside look at the lifestyle and pop culture in Nashville and follows the success of Bones’ own BobbyCast, a “treasure trove of unusually candid anecdotes” (Washington Post). The podcast has continued to grow in popularity this year, delivering compelling content as Bones sits down with top artists and songwriters – Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Maren Morris, John Mayer and Chris Stapleton to name a few – for in-depth personal interviews. Venturing into the world of stand-up comedy this year as well, Bones launched his FUNNY & ALONE tour. Touted by Sounds Like Nashville as “one we’d see time and time again, the “hilarious” (Tennessean) show became an instant hit amongst audiences with some venues selling out just minutes after going on sale. Bones sold out more than 20 comedy shows over the course of 2017, and fans can expect a new comedy tour announcement in early 2018. Bones also made his comedy debut at the historic Grand Ole Opry, where he was honored for the success of FUNNY & ALONE.

Bones’ comedy band Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots surprised fans with new music in August, releasing their EP THE NEXT EPISODE (Songs In The Key of B, LLC) featuring “Namaste,” the No. 1 song for two consecutive weeks on the Digital Comedy Song Chart, according to Nielsen. The duo also hit the road for multiple sold-out shows, including major festivals such as Faster Horses, Route 91 and Watershed. The Raging Idiots held their second annual MILLION DOLLAR SHOW at the start of 2017, raising millions for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The sum Bones and his team have raised for St. Jude through charity concerts, radiothons and fundraisers surpassed $7.6 million this year.

The continuously sought-after personality was tapped to present at ACM, CMA, CMT Awards and more. Bones also hosted the 2017 iHeartCountry Festival and Country Rising, a charity concert with a superstar lineup that benefited victims of this year’s Hurricanes as well as victims of the Las Vegas shooting.
