NASHVILLE, TN — Award-winning singer/songwriter Bobby Marquez is set for a busy weekend on the radio home of the Grand Ole Opry, WSM. First, fans can tune in Friday morning, September 22nd at 9am central time to Coffee, Country and Cody with host DJ Hall of Fame member Bill Cody. The show is aired on 650AM WSM and worldwide on www.wsmonline.com, as well as seen on Heartland Tv Network weekday mornings.
That appearance leads up to Bobby Marquez stepping up to the historic circle at the Texas Troubadour Theatre to carry-on the legacy of his musical hero Ernest Tubb this Saturday as the host of the Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree. The show, now celebrating it’s 70th anniversary year, kicks off at 10pm on September 23rd in front of a live audience at the 450-seat theatre. Fans can also watch a live stream of country music’s second longest running radio show at www.musiccitytelevision.com. The performance will be broadcast again at 12 midnight on 650 AM WSM and worldwide at www.wsmonline.com.
Marquez shares, “Ernest Tubb always put his fans first. He made music for them. And this show is for the fans of country music. I can’t wait to meet new and old friends at the theatre and entertain new and old friends worldwide on the broadcast.”
Marquez hails from Texas, so he was raised on Ernest Tubb recordings. Bobby Marquez has gone on to blaze a trail of his own being honored by the CMA of Texas as the 2015 Independent Artist of the Year and charting three songs on the Texas Charts. His music has earned him a membership with the legendary Wheeling Jamboree, numerous national television appearances and award nominations overseas in the UK and Australia. As a songwriter, his songs have been recorded by George Strait, Alan Jackson, Ty Herndon and Johnny Rodriguez.
Fans have come to know him for his magnetic smile and charisma on stage. But the entertainer points out this show will be like no other. Bobby Marquez reveals, “Expect some tributes and surprises along with some of my honky tonk originals and some new songs I am really proud of. ”
Bobby Marquez will welcome his guest Brenda Lynn Allen to the stage. The middle Tennessee native has been wowing audiences with her emotion driven vocals, often compared to Linda Ronstadt. “She has a beautiful voice and a bigger heart,” boasts Marquez.
The show will be driven by some of country music’s best-known musicians. The evening will wind down with a meet and greet with photo and autograph opportunities. The public is invited to this historic event with free admission.
Marquez concludes, ” I admire what Ernest Tubb stood for. His signature, ‘Be Better To Your Neighbors and You’ll Have Better Neighbors,’ says it all for me.”
