ON TOUR NOW,
TO JOIN “CHRIS STAPLETON’S ALL-AMERICAN ROAD SHOW” THIS SUMMER/FALL
“WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO
BE AS COMFORTABLE IN
THEIR SKIN AS COBB’S IS ON PROVIDENCE CANYON?”
“CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS
ALBUM, IT’S GONNA BE THE SUMMER SOUNDTRACK.”
Brent Cobb’s highly anticipated new album, Providence Canyon, is out now on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records and is currently No. 1 on the iTunes’ Country Albums chart. Purchase/stream HERE.
Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb,Providence Canyon features eleven new songs and is already receiving widespread critical acclaim…
“…he epitomizes all that’s enticing about Southern rootsy singer-songwriters
securing a vibe that’s organic, authentic and above all honest.”
“A sweet song for a road warrior like Cobb…Such a sensitivity
to time and people in his songs.”
“…Providence Canyon, with its accessible structures, sounds, and subject
matter, may well enroll new listeners, Cobb gaining greater traction as a country
singer-songwriter with talent, charisma, and a studious love for the genre.”
“Nobody is more fluent in country-funk than Brent Cobb…his latest,
Providence Canyon, is burlier, deeper in the pocket and even more satisfying.”
“He applied as much wit and craftsmanship to the feel of the 11 tracks as he did to the songwriting itself, enhancing the textures of his down-home settings and characters.”
“…maintains the warm, engaging spirit of its predecessor.”
“With that recent Grammy nomination under his belt and a brand new
album, Providence Canyon, Cobb, like Chris Stapleton before him, is poised
to become the latest country singer to stand out in the blurry mid-space between
Americana and mainstream country.”
“…a masterful southern opus…with Providence Canyon, Brent Cobb
has created a place you’ll want to revisit again and again.”
In celebration of the album, Cobb’s “Ain’t A Road Too Long” tour is currently underway, featuring special guest Savannah Conley. The tour includes stops at L.A.’s The Troubadour, San Francisco’s The Chapel, Seattle’s Tractor Tavern and Denver’s Globe Hall among many others. Following these headline dates, Cobb will once again join Chris Stapleton on his “All-American Road Show” this summer and fall including dates at L.A.’s The Forum, Chicago’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre and New York’s Madison Square Garden. See below for full details.
The new album and tour follow a breakthrough few years for Cobb, who was nominated for Best Americana Album at the 60th GRAMMY Awards for his major label debut, Shine On Rainy Day. Released in 2016 to overwhelming acclaim, The Tennessean calls the album, “…an outstanding piece of work and a collection of true, country songs,” while WXPN World Café asserts, “…a gorgeous solo album that promises to place him in the top echelon of this century’s young troubadours…” Since the album’s release, Cobb was also nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2017 Americana Honors & Awards and made his television debut on CONAN.
Cobb was born in Americus, Georgia, about an hour east of Columbus, in the rural south-central part of the state. In addition to his work as an artist, Cobb is widely respected as a songwriter garnering cuts by Lee Ann Womack, Luke Bryan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert and more.
