Buckstein Finds His Comfort Zone on His New EP

Just a little over a week into his summer concert series, Colorado native Buckstein drops a new EP Comfort Zone today on AmazonApple MusicPandoraSpotify and all major online retailers. This five track project, produced by Mr. E and written by Buckstein, features a sampling of his sound from the emotive ballad Coat to pounding, new-grass funneled through the lens of contemporary country on Down Home XO and a title track that seduces listeners with his deep drawl on Comfort Zone. Fans can find full streaming and purchase options by clicking here.

“It’s hard to find the words to describe how elated I am to finally get this music out to the public,” says Buckstein. “This is the end of a very long musical journey and, with any luck, the start of another.  There is no ‘back to business as usual’ for me as we come out of this pandemic. I’ve added musicians to my show, I’ve brought new music to the light of day and I’ve taken my sound and turned it past 11.  I’m not sure what happens from here, but I feel like whatever it is it will be good and I’m pumped.”

Upon previewing the project for music and entertainment journalists, the buzz has been spreading about Buckstein and the release:

With a laid-back, feel-good energy & an anthemic, belt-it-at-the-top-of-your-lungs chorus, the single [Lucky Day] really does embody that free-wheelin’ spirit forged by (Robert Earl) Keen & his fellow Texan troubadours. While the country boy heart beating in Buckstein’s chest has a lot to do with why he’s able to hit that mark so effortlessly, he explained that having an open mind is a key piece of the puzzle too. The song itself—endowing the number with tangible imagery and an infectious mood, when he sings about finding three $20 bills, you can really feel the jolt of cathartic excitement.” – American Songwriter Magazine

“Lucky Day is evidence of [Buckstein’s] hard work and invites us all to think of better days. Buckstein’s forthcoming album, Comfort Zone is something to be excited about.” – Country Evolution

“A flagship artist for the country scene in Colorado.” – Digital Journal

“He’s great! I loved having him on our ‘On the Verge’ series. So much fun. A great musician, singer and songwriter.” – Debbie Mazella, WMGQ-FM Magic 98.3 (New Jersey)

The 6’4″ cowboy heartthrob premiered the lead single in an exclusive spotlight with the Digital Journal and is featured in the Academy of Country Music’s ACM New Music Friday playlist.

Below is the track list for the Comfort Zone EP:

Buckstein is celebrating his EP release by embarking on a tour across Colorado. The fan-favorite artist will be sharing his songs from Comfort Zone tonight at his album release party in Denver with upcoming shows in Aurora, Castle Rock, Wheat Ridge, Fort Morgan, Grand Lake and Dillon. In an effort to honor the first responders of the world that were on the frontlines in the fight against COVID, Buckstein is offering those individuals a $10 discount code on ticket sales for the album release show tonight using the promo code word “1stresponder” on the ticket site. He not only utilized his time during lockdown to create new music, but he took on a challenging statewide role as director of operations overseeing 15 of Colorado’s drive-up COVID-19 testing sites.

“I knew some people that were working to scale operations for COVID testing here in Colorado, and they needed help,” recalls Buckstein. “They had grown from doing about 500 tests a day in August to doing about 15,000 tests a day come November. It had been over a decade since I had worked for anyone but myself, but these guys needed help and I saw an opportunity to jump in. Turns out my years of producing events came in handy in a crisis.  It did feel like I was a part of a huge fight. One day COVID will be a distant memory and my staff in the field won’t be in the history books, but what they’ve done to provide an essential service with compassion will be.”
