“’Imogene’ is a journey into our subconscious, taking us to a place we have all been – being in awe or infatuated with what someone else has.” – Caitlin Quisenberry
That awe and infatuation, innocent yet still well thought, comes to life through the clever animated music video accompanying the single release of Caitlin Quisenberry‘s new single “Imogene” available today. Created by Hollywood cartoonist Tom Schneiders, his colorful drawings bring the song’s lyrics into the two-dimensional world as she dreams of being Imogene – a girl so beautiful she can even make a name like Imogene cool:
Even with a name that’s strange
The way she’s got everything
Some how she made being Imogene cool
She’s got the right clothes, the right hair, the right shoes
She’s got the right boy, yeah boy, she’s got you
At the start of the video, Quisenberry is seen walking through the woods until she stops at a tree, smiling as if knowing what’s to come. Soon her animated self appears and sings about the girl that is Imogene. Through the cute journey of Imogene and her boyfriend driving and going on a hike, the beautiful blonde is swapped out for Quisenberry’s all the more beautiful red haired caricature allowing the songstress to be the one he looks at longingly, the one held in his arms and ultimately the one he kisses – in both the cartoon and in reality.
“It brings back all those feel-good memories of an old high school crush and that butterfly feeling you get early on in a relationship,” says Quisenberry. “But most of all, I love the creative liberty this song has allowed me to take, as there is nothing more valuable than fostering and utilizing our imaginations.”
