NASHVILLE, TN. – Caitlin Quisenberry lets go of the reins as she gives herself freedom to follow her heart down an open road. This pop country tune embodies hues of folk music paired with her soothing lullaby lyrics. The first line of the song, “Headed down an open road, this little town I’m lettin’ go, playin’ classics in your 60s Chevrolet, drivin’ away…”, immediately has her listeners wanting to jump in for the ride. Caitlin recorded this with a live band in historic downtown Franklin, Tennessee, at Dark Horse Recording Studio. She teamed up with producer, Taylor Macres, who married twangy electric guitar riffs with modern day pop elements, creating a fiery setting for this dreamy romance.

“I’m a free-spirited dreamer,” exclaims Caitlin! “I long for an open road full of adventure. This song is about living in the moment with the one you love. I believe the ultimate romance is when you feel your home is wherever that person is. The Wild West was a time and place of the true desperados, our countries outlaws, who risked their lives to seek a better life. My inspiration for writing this song stemmed from the excitement and danger of taking risks, having a life full of adventure, and leaving the past behind for something better. Thomas Edwin Mix, who was Hollywood’s first Western film star, helped define this notion into modern day life when he said, ‘The Old West is not a certain place in a certain time, it’s a state of mind.’ His words combined with my curiosity is at the root of where my lyrics grew from. What if we treated our quest for love like the pioneers of the Wild West? What if we were risk takers who loved boldly and bravely, just as they did? That, sounds exactly like the kind of love I want.”
