AXS Hosts Exclusive Listening Party
NASHVILLE, TN. – Just in time for the Memorial Day holiday, talented singer/songwriter, Carissa Leigh, celebrates the release of her charity single “At Night.” A haunting tribute to our troops battling PTSD, Carissa will be donating all proceeds from the release to Operation Stand Down. “At Night” was produced by Los Angeles trailblazer, Tone Def (Green Day, Santana, Outkast, Black Eye Peas), and can be found on iTunes and other digital retailers.
AEG owned AXS.com has the audio exclusive HERE.
Carissa explains the inspirations behind the release: “At Night came from conversations I had with someone I was dating about how he might not be in the Middle East any more but sometimes at night, he would wake up and think he was. He was a big, strong guy, and to see him get emotional inspired me to write about guys like him, who seem okay but sometimes at night, they let their guard down. I wanted to give the proceeds to OSDTN because I know they do amazing work with struggling veterans, actually part of the chorus was inspired by something I saw in their lobby that said “home of the free, because of the brave.””
Operation Stand Down was a natural choice for the Nashville based artist as she spends her free time volunteering with the organization.
2016 found the release of Carissa’s 14-song project, “Better Than I’ve Been.” Showcasing her incredible vocals and autobiographical songwriting skills, the album was produced by Tone Def & can be found HERE on iTunes. Industry and fans first turned their heads to Carissa Leigh with her 2014 debut of “Bad Boy” and then later with “Pack That Bag.” Produced by Tyler Cain (Meghan Linsey, James Otto, Ashley Monroe) and co-written by Leigh and J.T. Hodges, “Pack That Bag” impacted over 5 million country fans.
