Hometown Celebrates Chart-Topping Country Star

TAYLOR MILL, KENTUCKY – Grand Ole Opry member CARLY PEARCE spent her childhood listening to the classic voices of Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette alongside her grandparents, imagining too one day being a Country star. After convincing her parents to leave high school at just 16 for a job performing at Dollywood, cleaning AirBnBs to make ends meet in Nashville and navigating tough truths through song, she has done just that. The CMA and double ACM Awards winner returned to her hometown of Taylor Mill, KY for a day celebrating her accomplishments and honoring where her dream started.

Mayor Daniel Bell and the city commission hosted a special ceremony at Pride Park yesterday (9/2), giving Carly a key to the city and unveiling signage that reads: Welcome to Taylor Mill, Hometown of Country Music Star, Carly Pearce.

“We are happy to be able to bring our residents and city officials together with Carly to celebrate the success she has achieved, especially becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Carly has always taken pride in being a native of Taylor Mill and we are delighted to be able to honor Carly and let her know that she has made her hometown proud,” expressed Mayor Bell.

Carly shared, “coming home is always so special, but to be embraced by my community in such a big way is overwhelming. This is where my love of Country music began, and I’m so grateful and proud Taylor Mill, Kentucky is my hometown.”

The homecoming continued as Carly took the stage in Newport at PromoWest Pavilion at OVATION as direct support on Lady A’s WHAT A SONG CAN DO TOUR. Fiercely rooted in the classics, she has grown into a woman who embraces the genre’s forward progression and is confident in what she wants to say. Carly’s debut album EVERY LITTLE THING produced a PLATINUM-certified title track as her 2X PLATINUM No. 1 duet with Lee Brice, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” followed. That was just the beginning for the committed songwriter, who believes truth and music are the greatest form of resilience. On September 17 Carly will release 29: WRITTEN IN STONE via Big Machine Records, offering a deeper look at pain, strength and the courage between across 15 tracks. Crowning the project is  “Dear Miss Loretta,” a from-the-heart outreach to Country Music Hall of Famer Loretta Lynn featuring fellow Kentucky icon Patty Loveless.

Carly also joined Good Morning America to chat about performing “Next Girl” on CMA Summer Jam, which aired last night on ABC. Watch the segment here.
