NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville came out strong Monday night (7/17) to celebrate the PLATINUM-certified hit “In Case You Didn’t Know,” marking a second consecutive No. 1 for Brett Young (ASCAP). At the event hosted by ASCAP and BMI, Brett stood on stage at FGL House alongside his co-writers Trent Tomlinson (BMI), Tyler Reeve (BMI) and Kyle Schlienger (ASCAP) as the latter three celebrated their first chart-toppers. Brett humbly thanked Country radio, the BMLG Records promo team, friends and fans who have supported each step to the top.
“In 2015, I asked these these guys to come to Puerto Vallerta with me to write some songs,” explained Brett. “I was lucky enough that they agreed even though they didn’t know me well. But, who passes up a free trip to Mexico? We knew we had something special with ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ from the start, but I’m so thankful for how this song continues to change my life.”
The night kicked off with Brett sharing a video from that retreat with behind-the-scenes footage of the songwriting session. The crowd was amazed to see how far the song has come and ultimately landing at No. 1 across multiple platforms: Mediabase and Billboard Charts, Sirius XM’s The Highway, Vevo Country Chart for six consecutive weeks and No. 1 CMT Hot 20 Chart for two consecutive weeks. With “In Case You Didn’t Know,” Brett is also currently nominated for a Teen Choice Award in the Choice Country Song category and fans can vote here – http://www.teenchoice.com/.
From his self-titled album, Brett performed the follow-up single “Like I Loved You” Tuesday night (7/18) on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The heartbreak anthem is also the Most Added song on Country radio this week.
