NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country artist and songwriter Chance McKinney is embracing life’s simple pleasures and brushing off comparisons in his brand new single “What I Got” available today, Friday, May 17, 2024. Advocating for the riches that hold no dollar value, Chance highlights his favorite priceless moments in the catchy tune. Listen to “What I Got” now.
Following up a string of successful singles including his first release of the year, “Urban Legend,” which has seen great streaming success, “What I Got” gets back to Chance’s roots with a storyline that praises a life well lived. A philosophy he tries to live by daily.
“‘What I Got’ is about finding happiness in reality,” Chance shares. “If you really listen, the song is about a ‘look in her eyes,’ her ‘kisses’ and seeing her ‘dance around in my shirt.’ That’s it. The message is in the simplicity of the lyrics, and true love takes sacrifice, not money. I, myself, enjoy the little things and wanted to celebrate ‘What I Got.”
Pushing boundaries and always looking for ways to evolve, Chance’s discography highlights musical growth and personal integrity that strengthens with each new song. Having shared the stage with country music heavyweights including Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson and many more, the Montana native is no stranger to entertaining as he proved when he won CMT’s 4th Annual Music City Madness competition. His wide range of influences combine to make music that connects with the masses as seen on his 2021 EP Want ‘Em All, with the title track garnering over 1.6 million streams on Spotify alone, and numerous charting singles including “Backyard” which hit No. 53 on the Billboard Indicator chart. As he continues to churn out new music, fans can expect more crafty storytelling through the industrialized country sound he has become known for and, of course, the authentic Chance experience.
