Writers Corey Crowder, Josh Hoge and Chris Young Feted with No.1 Party in Nashville
Young’s Gold certified album I’m Comin’ Overfeatures back-to-back #1 singles
Pope follows up the Gold certified duet with SUMMER EP release
Nashville, TN — Duet partners Chris Young and Cassadee Pope teamed up again on Tuesday night (8/16) to celebrate the chart-topping success of their RIAA Gold certified single, “Think Of You,” during a No. 1 party from Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame. Hundreds of music industry fans joined the pair, along with Young’s (BMI) co-writers Corey Crowder (ASCAP) and Josh Hoge (SESAC). “Think Of You” marks Young’s eighth single to hit the top of the charts and Pope’s very first No. 1 single as an artist.
During the festivities, Young was also surprised with the news that his latest album, I’m Comin’ Over, featuring back-to-back seventh and eighth No. 1 singles “I’m Comin’ Over” and “Think Of You,” has achieved RIAA Gold certification. The accolade is made even more special in that Young took his first turn as co-producer on this latest album, alongside Corey Crowder.
“One of my favorite things about ‘Think Of You’ is having Cassadee Pope on it, this song would not be the same without her,” said Young. He addressed the room sharing “from the bottom of my heart, for this song and everything that is going on in my career, you change our lives on a daily basis and I’m truly blessed to get to do what I do.”
Young and Pope will team up again next month as they embark on the fall leg of his headlining tour. Chris Young’s “I’m Comin’ Over Tour” will span 25 shows running September through the end of the year. CASE Construction Equipment will join the tour as an official sponsor. Special guests joining Young on tour in September and October are Dan + Shay, with Dustin Lynch coming on board in November and December. Pope will return for all dates after providing direct support during the first leg of the tour. Tickets can be purchased at aeglive.com and ChrisYoungCountry.com.
“Thank you all for believing in me, the two of us as duet partners, and in ‘Think Of You,’” said Pope. “Chris, you have no idea what you’ve done for my career and for my spirit.” Her recently released Summer EP was also produced by Crowder.
