Nashville, Tenn. – Western Kentucky native CJ Sparks has a new single out today called “Missouri On My Mind.” It’s available via SGM Records and is the lead from his next project Misery Loves Company, available April 21st. The new song and full collection will be distributed through Sony’s The Orchard. “Missouri On My Mind” is available for download and/or streaming HERE.
Sparks is known for his baritone vocals, rooted in an older style of songwriting that is like taking a trip back in time. Hailing from Muhlenberg County, the area is rich in American Roots music, with the legendary John Prine being one of the focal artists to come from the area with both the late singer’s parents being from the area. By carrying on that inspiration and tradition, the Outlaw singer looks to keep the spirit alive.
With “Missouri On My Mind,” CJ Sparks looks to continue the momentum created from his previous effort, The Prodigal Son. With production from Wayne and Mason Brewer (of Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers), it’s an evolution of CJ’s previous sound. Following the last project launch in 2021, the concept album relayed stories of trials, vices, and personal battles within. It held the No. 1 spot on the Country Global Radio Indicator Charts for weeks when it was first released to radio.
Fans can catch CJ on tour promoting his debut album. In addition to solo dates, he’s also touring with the chart-topping group Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers. Learn more at www.cjsparksmusic.com.
