NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Cledus T. Judd has long been one of Country Music’s most famous comedians, with such radio staples as “If Shania Was Mine” and “Garth Must Be Busy” to his credit. His newest project, however, strikes a different tone for the Cartersville, Georgia native.
Things I Remember Before I Forget, released Friday, November 11, is a three-CD set that contains thirty-seven stories about Judd’s life. Included are anecdotes about his experiences growing up – as well as becoming a comedic superstar. But, the project also takes an emotional turn for Judd, as he shares the heartbreaking story of a fight with depression and his mothers’ battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
“My journey through life has been has been long and hard. So has most people’s,” says Judd. “I was a lonely kid at times with a pretty tough upbringing. I failed miserably in my marriages and relationships. I have been a drug addict. I have been suicidal. I have been made fun of. I have been called a liar and a big dreamer. But one thing I never did was give up! God would not allow it!”
Things I Remember Before I Forget is being promoted in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Foundation, formed in 1980, the Alzheimer’s Association advances research to end Alzheimer’s and dementia while enhancing care for those living with the disease.
Judd says that he hopes his story will bring strength and healing to those who hear the set – regardless of the demons they have fought.
“I hope after hearing this CD, people share my feeling that a dream is only a dream if it’s never chased! I was so tired of running, just like many people, until I finally decided to start chasing and believing. And believe me it was hard. Believe me the road is never easy. There is no formula for success no matter what people tell you. The key to success is to never quit! To never accept no, but to take no as one step closer to a yes!”
Things I Remember Before I Forget – which also includes nine songs, in addition to the spoken-word tracks – is in stores now, on Amazon and iTunes. The album is distributed exclusively by BFD through RED Distribution.
