Debut episode featuring superstar Chris Young
premiering now on CMT Socials
NASHVILLE, TN — CMT today announced its newest digital franchise “CMT Stages,” a new series featuring headlining artists reflecting upon their ongoing career highlights via their most iconic songs and musical influences. “CMT Stages” kicks off today, Tuesday, August 16, with superstar Chris Young and is available now in its entirety on CMT socials. The special also makes its broadcast premiere today, airing commercial free on CMT Music and CMT’s Pluto TV channel, with individual performances on CMT.
Shot on location in his hometown of Murfreesboro, TN at the newly-established Chris Young Cafe on the campus of his alma mater Middle Tennessee State University, this premiere episode of “CMT Stages” features exclusive performances of Young’s very first No. 1, “Gettin’ You Home;” the song that took his career to the next level, “I’m Comin’ Over;” and his most recent award-winning chart-topper with good friend Kane Brown, “Famous Friends.” He also recalls his early career milestones and big breaks in the music business, including his breakout appearance on the television show “Nashville Star,” and a tragic infection that interrupted his tour with Brad Paisley and almost cost him his life. Young’s successful career has to date yielded 12 No. 1 hits and more than 5 billion streams.
“CMT Stages” is the latest original series produced specifically for digital platforms, including YouTube and Facebook. Additional CMT Digital franchises include the 2021 Shorty Award-winning “Viral To Verified,” “On The Road” and “Campfire Sessions.” “CMT Stages” is executive produced by Melissa Goldberg and Corey Janus, and produced by Christina Cooper, with Brittany Lutz in charge of production.
