1. Viacom’s EMERGE Event: EMERGE hosted a special Pride Q&A and screening with star of TV Land’s “Younger,” Nico Tortorella on Wednesday, June 20. The conversation was moderated by host of “CMT Hot 20 Countdown,” Cody Alan. The two discussed the show, gender/sexual identity, and “All of It Is You,” Nico’s new book of poetry. Emerge is Viacom’s Employee Resource Group focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees and straight allies. By providing a forum for ongoing open dialogue, Emerge aims to enrich the professional and personal experiences of LGBTA employees at Viacom.
2. Nashville Equality Walk and Pride Festival: CMT colleagues and friends gathered among thousands on Saturday, June 23 for the annual Nashville Pride Equality Walk, which also served as the kickoff for the Pride Festival. CMT’s Cody Alan served as a presenter at the festival, which featured a number of performances from country music and beyond.
3. GLAAD Concert for Love and Acceptance: CMT’s Cody Alan hosted the Concert for Love and Acceptance presented by GLAAD and Ty Herndon on June 7. The concert featured a plethora of artists and celebrities appearing and performing to accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ community. Performers for the night’s event included Cam (pictured below with Cody Alan), Cassadee Pope, Thompson Square and more.
