Cody Webb Set to Perform for South Carolina Connections Academy’s Virtual Prom Amid Coronavirus

Nashville, Tenn., — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Copperline Music Group’s Cody Webb is one of many artists that have created online benefits and weekly live performances in the midst of tour cancelations and social distancing restrictions.  To continue his efforts, the South Carolina native is set to perform his first virtual prom for South Carolina Connections Academy, a tuition-free online public school serving students in grades K-12 throughout South Carolina, this coming May, with a live, full-band online performance.

“I feel like I can speak for every artist out there when it comes to wanting to do all we can for our fans during this challenging time,” says Webb. “So, when the South Carolina Connections Academy reached out to me, I felt honored to do what I could to make their prom memorable.  We are all in this together and we will all get through this together.”

“We’re always looking for ways to best serve our families so when it became apparent our in-person socialization events would need to be canceled or postponed, we immediately began to brainstorm ways to give our students a special prom,” said Josh Kitchens, principal at South Carolina Connections Academy. “We are thrilled that Cody Webb has agreed to perform and create a special memory for our students.”

The roaring 20s-themed virtual prom will take place via Zoom where the high-school students will be able to connect online from their homes while sporting their best 20s-themed attire. While in-person social events have been canceled, this special event will allow the students to have a memorable experience and still participate in this high-school milestone.  Webb will entertain the students with a full-band online performance live from Nashville, TN.  The rest of the evening’s entertainment will be filled with a DJ hired to perform for the duration of the virtual prom.
