CARTERSVILLE, Georgia — Country singer-songwriter C.W. Smith announced the release of Get Her Off of Mine — his first single with Soda Mountain Records and a sample of his forthcoming EP.
With Get Her Off of Mine, C.W. draws from 90s classic country influences like Alan Jackson and Clint Black while capturing the modern sounds of a wild country bar at closing time in northwest Georgia.
“Get Her Off of Mine came from an idea that started with a conversation between a patron and a bartender. I just want to sit here and drink until I don’t think about her anymore. To me, it’s very classic and traditional to country music,” C.W. said.
Get Her Off of Mine follows C.W.’s self-released 2020 EP Burnt Hickory. With a more upbeat tempo and tone, the new single has shown C.W.’s growth as a songwriter while staying true to his country roots.
“I’m pushing out and finding different sounds and different tones and different ways to still make country music, stay true to my style, and stay true to the music that I love,” he said.
Truly independent, C.W. financed his studio time for the Get Her Off of Mine EP by playing nearly 20 live shows a month at bars throughout the Southeast and serving as an explosive ordnance disposal sergeant in the Georgia Army National Guard.
Get Her Off of Mine is available exclusively for purchase from Soda Mountain Records on Bandcamp.
