The 13th annual benefit concert, held Tuesday at the historic Ryman Auditorium, featured headliner Blake Shelton, who kept the fans on their feet with rowdy renditions of hits like “Ol’ Red” and “Boys Round Here.” Joining Shelton on stage was this year’s runner up on NBC’s The Voice, Lauren Duski, who made her Ryman debut and received a standing ovation from the crowd.
“Every year I am amazed by the generosity of the some of the biggest stars in country music who give their time to play our show and to the country music fans who year after year show up and give their hard earned money for such a great cause,” said Wiseman. “It is a blessing to work alongside our generous sponsors O’Charley’s and Nissan to touch the lives of so many who struggle to find a meal.”
This year’s line-up also included a Songwriters Round with Wiseman and The Warren Brothers and performances by Shelton, John Rich and Chris Lane and an appearance by “Vegas Elvis” Jesse Garon.
Since its inception 13 years ago, the annual event has now raised enough money to provide over 4.2 million meals to Middle Tennesseans at risk of hunger.
