THE MUSIC VIDEO LOOKS BACK ON THE PEOPLE AND PLACES THAT MAKE US WHO WE ARE AS ONE-HALF OF THE DUO REFLECTS ON 10-YEARS IN NASHVILLE

NASHVILLE, TENN. – One of country music’s most promising new duos, Cross Atlantic are giving fans a glimpse of their personal scrapbook in their new video, “Dear Hometown.” Directed by Jon Karr, the nostalgic video premiered earlier today on CMT.com.

“The emotional tug between chasing dreams and staying close to home is one so many country songs have been written about, perhaps none as sweetly as Cross Atlantic’s “Dear Hometown,” a love letter to the places and people that helped raise the duo’s Karli Chayne and James Sinclair-Stott.” – Jessica Nicholson, CMT.com

Band members Karli Chayne and James Sinclair-Stott wrote the autobiographical song with Porter Howell and Brady Seals, who are familiar to country fans through their time in Little Texas (“God Blessed Texas,” “My Love,” “What Might Have Been”). Co-produced by Derek George (Randy Houser, Joe Nichols) and Sinclair-Stott, the cinematic lyrics are crafted around Karli’s experiences of growing up in Bolivar, Missouri and reflects her deep musical roots. The duo incorporated special photographs from their childhoods, allowing the video to honor the people and places that shaped them.

“With the photo montage, we were able to bring our childhood memories to life,” Karli says. “This song is so special to us because we believe that chasing a dream like ours requires us to be fearless in certain ways but all we really want to do is make our families and hometowns proud. In this video we are able to showcase the emotion that no matter where we are or how successful we become, we carry where we came from with us. The images in the video are childhood pictures of both me and James coming from very different worlds but if you really look, you won’t see much difference.”

Always drawn to the stage, Karli grew up singing and performing in the Truman Lake Opry, a theater run by her family. When she was 15, she talked her parents into moving to Nashville from Missouri to pursue a career in country music. To chase that dream, the family of five left their hometown behind, yet the memories from that time come back to life in “Dear Hometown.” April 2021 will mark the 10th anniversary of that move to Nashville.

Karli and James met by chance in a Nashville coffee shop in 2015, and their immediate friendship turned into a musical partnership, and ultimately a marriage. “Dear Hometown” follows the release of fan favorites “Jigsaw Puzzle” and “Just a Word” in 2020. Uplifting and relatable, Cross Atlantic’s songs have received attention from BillboardCMT.com, and MusicRow, to name a few. They are preparing additional new music to be released this year.
