Little Feather performs at the 92nd Opry birthday celebration on October 7
NASHVILLE, TENN. – Curb Records’ award-winning group Little Feather has released their debut video for “Hillbilly Love Song (Hey Y’all).” Watch it here! The autobiographical song was brought to life by director Ryan Hamblin of BrainStem Digital at the beautiful Two Rivers Mansion in Nashville. The single and video showcases the band’s organic musicianship, personalities and lead singer Liz Sharpe’s vintage-modern vocal abilities. Scenes depicted on the hallway walls come from actual home video footage of Liz growing up in Pikeville, Kentucky. The band’s self-titled debut album is available for download here.
Little Feather is excited to perform on the Opry Plaza as part of the Grand Ole Opry’s 92nd birthday celebration on Saturday, October 7th at 10:30a.m.
The band posted their first ever video on Facebook last night and within a few hours had several thousand views with comments from all over the globe. Wendi said, “Toe-tappin’ goodness,” while Richard shared, “there is something special about the sound of this band.”
The acoustically-driven band is steeped in tradition. Liz is a coal miner’s daughter and grand-daughter with a family lineage that connects the young Kentucky singer to award-winning traditionalist Patty Loveless and to the Queen of Country herself, Loretta Lynn. And, as if that wasn’t impressive enough, Shannon Campbell (guitar, mandolin, banjo and harmony) is the son of musical icon, Glen Campbell. The rest of the band is comprised of Sharpe’s husband, Aaron Spraggs (drums), Dylan Rowe (bass player), Sam Brooker (rhythm guitar and harmony) and Pat Boyer (guitar and slide).
Liz once penned a song titled “Float Along, Little Feather,” and upon careful listening she knew she was onto a sound that she wanted to explore deeper. Take one listen to the music and you’ll hear why this new generation of rustic, heart-on-the-sleeve, Country-meets-Americana sound is quickly attracting the interest of so many listeners. “Words can’t express how happy my band and I are to share our music with the world,” says Liz Sharpe. “The music has been incubating for a while now, but Little Feather is getting ready to fly!”
