Following Exclusive Premiere with Sounds Like Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country songstress Dani Taylor perfectly encapsulates the feeling that comes with losing a love you never technically had in her latest single “Strangers Again,” out today. The mid-tempo tune, which premiered exclusively with Sounds Like Nashville yesterday (8/12), finds Taylor post-relationship and back at a point of unfamiliarity with someone that, she felt, should have been “forever.”

“This song is all about the process of remembering a relationship with someone, but telling yourself you are strangers now. This song helped me get over a relationship with a guy I never technically dated,” Taylor explained to Sounds Like Nashville. “The reason it’s so hard to forget someone you never dated is because you never even got to the point of seeing their bad side, so you’re only stuck with the good memories and what ifs, which is just as hard (if not harder) than getting over someone you were in a committed relationship with.”

“Strangers Again” comes on the heels of Dani’s early 2021 single “Table for One Drinking for Two,” which saw significant chart success (it hit #44 on the Billboard Country Indicator chart) and support from DSPs – most notably Spotify, who added the track to their prestigious New Boots, Wild Country, and Breakthrough Country playlists. To date, the song has amassed over 1.5 million streams on Spotify alone.

The official music video for “Strangers Again” is due out next month.
