Artists from Universal Music Group Nashville team up with leading
nonprofit provider of live music in hospitals to spread holiday cheer in
“I’m On Call for Tennessee” virtual concert
NASHVILLE – Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, and artists with Universal Music Group (UMG) Nashville are sharing the joy of live music with patients and frontline workers in hospitals across the state of Tennessee through the “I’m On Call for Tennessee” virtual concert. The concert, hosted by Lauren Alaina and featuring performances by Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, Maddie & Tae, Priscilla Block and Kylie Morgan will be available to healthcare facilities statewide for patients and staff to enjoy throughout the month of December.
The concert is being shared with healthcare facilities through Musicians On Call’s Virtual Bedside Performance Program. The program utilizes video conferencing and livestream technology to bring performances from Volunteer Musicians and artist supporters directly to pediatric and adult patients, caregivers and Veterans through remote, live music through intimate one-on-one performances and hospital-wide concerts. This year, more than 75,000 people have experienced music through the Virtual Bedside Performance Program. The “I’m On Call for Tennessee” virtual concert is sponsored by UMG Nashville and HCA Healthcare/TriStar Health. All Tennessee hospitals and healthcare facilities interested in sharing the concert with their patients and caregivers should complete this form.
UMG Nashville is also partnering with Musicians On Call on an exclusive online auction with all proceeds benefiting MOC’s programs. Starting December 1, fans can bid on personalized guitars and autographed memorabilia from Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Sam Hunt, George Strait and Keith Urban by visiting charitybuzz.com/moc.
“We know this has been a hard year for the patients, families and caregivers in hospitals and we wanted to let them know they are not alone, especially as we near the end of the year. We have seen music have incredible physical, mental and emotional benefits for patients and hospital staff throughout the year and we are thankful to have the ability to share some joy across Tennessee with the ‘I’m On Call for Tennessee’ virtual concert,” said Musicians On Call President & CEO Pete Griffin. “We couldn’t have done it without our friends at UMG Nashville and the artists who stepped up to be on call with Musicians On Call.”
For more than 20 years Musicians On Call has used music to promote and complement the healing process through programs including the Bedside Performance Program, Virtual Bedside Performance Program and Music Pharmacy. As the nation’s leading provider of live music in hospitals, MOC’s Bedside Performance Program and Virtual Program have reached more than 875,000 individuals in healthcare facilities nationwide.
