GRAMMY and CMA award-winning country powerhouse Darius Rucker has teamed with Pandora to take over his own station in celebration of his When Was the Last Time album, which was released today. The new project is the South Carolina native’s fifth solo country album, following a history-making run in the rock world with Hootie and the Blowfish. As a solo country act, Rucker has amassed more than 1.2 Billion spins on Pandora – a number that is rapidly increasing with his almost 3 million weekly Pandora spins and 4 million listeners on Pandora’s Darius Rucker artist station.
For his Pandora takeover, Darius gives us an exclusive interview about the heart and soul he put into this new music, plus how his three kids helped in the song selection process.

“I still make records; I make total albums. It’s very important for me to tell the story from start to finish. I want to make records that the true fans want to sit and listen to the whole record.”
Picking the title
“Picking an album title was hard…but that was just what I wanted to say with this record: When was the last time you did something different? When was the last time you did something that made you scared? I just thought that was a great title, because that’s what the record is all about for me: going out on a limb.”
