Morris releases a brand new visualizer to accompany the track;
first-ever headlining Hometown Heartbreak Tour is underway
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Genre bending singer-songwriter and rapper David Morris continues to push the envelope and hone in on his unique blend of modern day pop, hip-hop, and Country. With over 188M+ streams worldwide from his viral hits “Carrying Your Love” and “Dutton Ranch Freestyle,” he’s now back with a new release, “I Hate This Job,” available everywhere today. Primed for his live show, this anthemic track takes a moment to appreciate the little things in life, while at the same time – really hating your day job. The comedic, yet honest lyrics are relatable to so many while the bright guitar riffs make this the quintessential ‘beer raised in the air,’ weekend singalong.
“This is a song that I’ve been trying to write for years,” shares Morris of the writing process. “Every iteration was closer to where it ended up. I heard it in my head as something that was classic and modern. Country and rock…and very catchy, easy to sing along to. One of those songs you feel like you’ve already heard before. I’m so stoked about how it turned out.”
To get the song just right, the “viral sensation” (E! News) teamed up with Jared Griffin and Noah West to write the track. Morris is also dropping a new music video which makes the lyrics even more relatable, showing himself working at a pizza parlor – wishing he was anywhere else but there.

CRITICAL CLAIM FOR DAVIS MORRIS:
“This viral sensation blends Country with hip-hop to achieve a unique sound unheard of in the
music industry.” – E NEWS
“Morris’ music feels like a blend of the sharply focussed nihilism of Tupac and the small town
sensitivity of Springsteen. If Sam Hunt is the Drake of country music, then David Morris is the
Kendrick Lamar: wildly inventive but quietly focused and genuinely humble.” – HOLLER
“Viral breakout recording artist, David Morris, has been disrupting the music industry with his
new hit song ‘Dutton Ranch Freestyle.’ Morris incorporates country music with hip-hop into this
unique song that is smashing records on the charts and across social media platforms.” – LIFE &
STYLE MAG / STAR MAG
“Morris is not an industry neophyte running up the algorithmic score for a fast cash-in. Nor is he
some Walker Hayes clone familiar to Music City executives as a pop-country songwriter with a
deft touch around hook-driven R&B.” – THE TENNESSEAN
“His verses are emotive and nostalgic, as he strings together heartfelt melodies atop the forlorn
instrumentation.” – EARMILK
“David Morris has caught the attention of music lovers with his unique fusion of country, rap and
hip-hop music, telling the stories of his native Appalachian community, relating to people who
often don’t have a voice.” – MUSIC MAYHEM
