Last week, Oliver Anthony with guest the Davisson Brothers Band
put on the first ever ticketed musical event at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership
On June 20th, West Virginia Day, Oliver Anthony and the Davisson Brothers Band will take the stage together at the Clarksburg Amphitheater in Clarksburg, WV — just days after returning from a landmark weekend at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership in Austin, Texas.
“We’re beyond excited to return to our hometown and share the stage with Oliver Anthony,” says the Brothers. “It’s been a few years since we’ve played Clarksburg, and it means the world to us to bring what we do on the road back to where it all started — the very land our ancestors helped build. Our family’s roots here go back to the 1700s, when Daniel Davisson, one of the first settlers of Harrison County, laid the foundation for what would eventually become Clarksburg. To now, in 2025, bring one of the biggest artists in the world to perform on that same ground is nothing short of surreal.”

On June 13 and 14 Joe Rogan and team hosted Oliver Anthony’s Benefit Concert For Austin’s Humane Society.
Oliver Anthony brought his tour mates the Davisson Brothers Band with him.
It was a historical weekend -The Comedy Mothership is known as the hottest stage in Showbiz right now hosting the top comics and the hit show “Kill Tony”.
Chris Davisson of the Davisson Brothers Band said “It was an honor when we were invited to be on the show by Oliver Anthony and Draven Riffe. We have worked our entire lives at what we do. Being from Appalachia and living in West Virginia has always made being a part of the music business circles a challenge.”
“We grew up with nothing, we started making music for a living in grade school. It’s what our family does, our Dad had us out keeping the bills paid 2-5 nights a week from grade school through High School. It was literally how we keep our utilities from getting shut off.”
The brothers started their band in 1995 doing regional shows around West Virginia and Appalachia, released their debut self titled album in 2009, and it’s been a hard road ever since. In 2015 the Davisson Brothers met legendary Manager Erv Woolsey, alongside of Erv and Allen Mitchell; it’s been an up hill battle for the band.
Chris Davisson says the fire inside them “to create music and represent Appalachia” is what drives he and his brother Donnie Davisson. “We never really caved to trying to be something we are not or fit in with the trends in the mainstream country. We never had the support of a major record label or a big team of people helping us. The only way for us to keep our road crew and tour bus going up and down the road is to do it on our own. It’s 24/7, 52 weeks a year for us, pushing forward with all we have to barely get by.”
“For guys like Joe Rogan to showcase acts like Oliver Anthony and the Davisson Brothers Band is mind blowing,” he continues. “I think Joe Rogan takes pride in helping the folks out here grinding and working their asses off. His platforms are so powerful, the amount of response we received after this weekend from his social media post and his stories on the Motherships pages moves the needle for acts like us. We have played a lot of stages in our lifetime with everyone imaginable. The two sold out shows in the Big Boy room at the Mothership this past weekend tops them all, I put it right up there with our Grand Ole Opry debut.”
“To us we could have never dreamed of playing the Mothership stage. The way his team and staff run the place alone is inspiring as an artists. They have really created a historical space for art and entertainment. We are huge fans of everything that happens there. We spend a lot of time watching Rogan, Theo, Gillis and crew on the road. After hanging with a bunch of comics and that energy this past weekend, we look forward to doing more In that world.
We are extremely grateful for Oliver Anthony, he is like no one else in the industry, he welcomes my brother and I with open arms and shares all his success and opportunities with us and several others in his circle. He is always looking out for everyone while allowing us freedom to do what we do on stage and off stage being creative with him and his team. He and Draven Riffe are hands down the most loyal, selfless caring people we have ever had the honor of working alongside and with. We feel like we are family and creating a movement.
