This Veterans Day, A New Understanding of Those Who’ve Served Our Country
As Dan Kouba’s Music Spotlights Stories of America’s Veterans
On The Weekend of The Release of Apache Blues Documentary
Kouba took stage on Debi Champion’s long-running songwriter showcase, sharing the impactful stories of these soldiers and their battles with PTSD. Veteran and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Jerry Foster was in the room. Foster wrote hit songs for Jerry Lee Lewis, Charlie Pride, Hank Williams Junior and others.
Now, Dan Kouba’s ‘stories in song’ will play out in a special documentary being released today called, “Apache Blues: Welcome Home.” It will premiere in Encino, California at Laemmle Theatre Town Center 5 through November 16th. Tickets are available here: https://www.laemmle.com/film/
Dan Kouba has an entire album based on the stories in this documentary, also titled Apache Blues, which is currently available (Apache Blues/Spotify). One of the tracks, “The Veterans Trail” plays as the movie closes. Dan Kouba also makes an appearance on screen. The Apache Blues documentary is all about the first hand experiences that live-on in the minds of soldiers and dealing with the trauma, as well as, hopefully helping a new generation of soldiers prepare for the realities of war.
Kouba has called himself a “messenger” with these songs and states that this project is “some of the most important work he has done,” urging everyone to watch and listen and salute a veteran this weekend by taking the time to really learn their stories.
