Relix Premieres “Taking Time” Video
“The album features five original tunes plus a special homage to his Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame dad Dickey Betts.
The results reflect a musical career steeped in rock, country and blues.” – Relix
“Sketches to me is not a beginning but an extension. I grew up with a guitar in my hand and I was surrounded by songs that were iconic. Music was always a focal point in my family and songwriting was the cornerstone. I have witnessed in many situations, playing with my father or the countless others, that the song is what ignites the connection. Now that I have this opportunity to play in my own outfit I can bring my songs as the jumping off point for that experience.”
– Duane Betts
Duane Betts, guitar virtuoso and son of the famed Dickey Betts (The Allman Brothers) has released his debut EP, Sketches of American Music.
Packed full of life stories, this sampling of music showcases Betts’ depth as a songwriter and musician. Duane is currently on tour as a special guest with The Devon Allman Project. These shows feature a 30 minute opening set with Duane Betts using his go to guitar player, John Satchela Jr., and Devon’s rhythm section. After a 15 minute break the Devon Allman Project plays a one hour set which includes songs from Honeytribe, Royal Southern Brotherhood, The Devon Allman Band and a few covers. The night culminates with a special 30 minute plus encore featuring all eight musicians playing Allman Brothers tunes and other classics.
Later this year Duane will tour alongside his father for a handful of support dates.
