“Small Town Boy” Maintains Top Spot For Career-Record Fourth Consecutive Week
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country radio’s ‘current mood’ continues to be “Small Town Boy,” as DUSTIN LYNCH’s undeniable smash remains in the top spot of the Billboard Country Airplay chart for a fourth consecutive week, making it the chart’s longest-running leader of 2017.
Not only is the GOLD-certified single’s domination a new record for Lynch’s full-throttle career, but it’s also the Billboard Country Airplay Chart’s first four-week #1 since Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man” in January 2016. The sultry summer hit has the distinction of drawing the largest audience for a one-week period (chart dated week of 9/23). Fans can catch the Broken Bow Records star perform the grooving stunner on CBS’ “The Talk” Friday, October 6 (2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. CT).
“I always knew ‘Small Town Boy’ was something special, but to be #1 for four weeks is absolutely incredible,” says Lynch. “It’s been amazing to see people embrace this song and to have the continued support of Country radio. If I had to sum up my ‘current mood’ right now, it’d definitely be pumped!”
“Small Town Boy” is the hitmaker’s FIFTH consecutive chart-topper and follows GOLD-certified #1 “Seein’ Red,” the lead single from his bold third album CURRENT MOOD, which recently debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. The Zach Crowell-produced track – penned by Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip, and Kyle Fishman – is Lynch’s fastest-rising single to date, while the accompanying video has amassed over 15 million views on YouTube/Vevo.
The high-octane entertainer will headline THE RIDE OR DIE TOUR beginning Nov. 3 in Fayetteville, NC, featuring support from Michael Ray, LANCO, and Ryan Hurd on select dates.
