Country singer/songwriter Dusty Leigh hammers down during the pandemic and delivers Roots & Dreams Vol. 1, the first installment of her debuting 3 Vol. EP available now.
Coming off the heels of Dusty Leigh’s Josie Music Awards nominated Song of The Year, Ninety Nine Halos, the two-song Vol. 1 release is a dream come true; one that not even a pandemic can steamroll.
The world may have been put on hold thanks to quarantine, but it was prime time to power through and wrap up the finishing touches of Dusty Leigh’s first EP. Capturing her upbringing, influences, and her no-nonsense style, “Roots & Dreams Vol. 1” is just that; a showcase of strong will and sheer determination.
Dusty Leigh draws listeners in using heart-felt melodies and genuine emotion that she herself has lived. Describing her upbringing as one stemming from “humble, but tragic beginnings” each song of this trilogy is truly hand-crafted and recorded to portray life’s joys and struggles, all of which Dusty Leigh hopes her listeners can relate to.
Dusty Leigh says of the Roots & Dreams trilogy: “The completion of this project, my first album, has been a life-long dream. It represents everything I’ve set out to do in my life, despite the long road it’s taken to get here. It’s the beginning of a new chapter and the victory of a childhood dream finally accomplished. I hope these songs find a place in the hearts of everyone who listens and they love them as much as I do.”
Vol. 1 delivers a classic Folk/Americana sound with hints of Dolly and K.T. Oslin; two iconic music trendsetters that have helped shape Dusty Leigh’s musical career. The down-home style takes listeners on a fresh journey that leaves them wanting more. Dusty Leigh sings with lessons-learned passion and uses each performance as an outlet for showcasing creativity. Her love of ballads and anthems that relate to life’s ups and downs only adds dimension to her music and helps bring every lyric to life.
It was from an early age that Dusty Leigh found her voice. Singing for family and friends and dreaming of one day standing on The Opry Stage. Tragedy struck during Dusty Leigh’s informative years with the death of her mother when she was just 15. Determined not to let tragedy derail her dreams, she continued singing and sharing her love for it with others. She became a military wife at just 18 and spent the next 16 years travelling the country with her husband and two daughters. It wasn’t until 2011, when her husband Wade put together her first band that she was finally able to settle into her childhood dreams and carve out her future musical career. A career long overdue, but destined for greatness.
