Nashville, TN. – Emerging LuckySky Music recording artist Tori Martin just released her new album Lucky, the first release in three years. This 8-song collection, already exceeding 90,000 streams, perfectly reflects Martin as an artist, showcasing her impeccable rich vocals, and taking her to new levels. The compilation of hand-picked songs, all of which Martin co-wrote, will play to your backroad country heartstrings and speak to your emotions with her super-sized ballads touching on the moodiness of love and loss, taking control, and happiness. On her new album Lucky, Martin inhabits the songs she writes and sings with emotional climbs, tenderness, and passion. She seamlessly fuses her personal blend of modern-traditional, pop-country style. Lucky is currently available through all streaming platforms and digital retailers. Listen here.
The album, produced by Bill Warner and tracked with Nashville’s stellar musicians, was cut at Omnisound Studios, on Music Row where the likes of Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and many others have left their mark. Every song on the project was crafted masterfully from Martin’s real-life experiences and creatively put to music incorporating popified, country subject matter with humor and candor with Nashville’s top songwriters.
The first single off the album, the modern-traditional “What Would Dolly Do?” is a nod to the queen of rhinestones and dreams, the iconic Dolly Parton. The idea came to fruition when Martin visited Dollywood and saw handwritten letters from Dolly to her parents upon moving to Nashville. The song has garnered over 50,000 streams, currently resides at #18 on the Texas Regional Radio Chart, and is being released to country radio across the U.S. and Canada.
Other highlights from the album include the catchy, mid-tempo “Fun,” inspired by the pandemic, which serves as a reminder to make time for loved ones and to start living. The title track “Lucky” is a “let’s roll the dice on love,” mid-tempo, pop-country track, with an unforgettable, singable melody. Not the typical innuendo, “Lucky,” is about winning in life and knowing that you have hit the love jackpot. It’s inspired by her true experience from her happy relationship. Providing advice for those on the dating scene, the haunting, 12/8 groove “Lonely Boy,” explores the reality of a girl knowing her worth when the person approaching her does not. The vibey, feel-good rendition of “Ride,” is a getaway song for lovers, ala those Motown feels you forever crave.
