Famed Nashville Producer Brian Ahern Honored at Musicians Hall of Fame
Famed producer Brian Ahern was the guest of honor at a December 14th fundraiser at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. Iconic artist Emmylou Harris along with famed musicians Albert Lee, Glen Dee Hardin, John Ware, Ricky Skaggs, Sharon White, Cheryl White, Fayssoux McLean, and Jerry Douglas treated the audience to intimate performances and stories of working with Ahern.
“With Brian, it’s all about the music and guiding the artist on their quest to find their own personal sound and vision,” stated Emmylou. “He really taught me to trust my instincts… Brian made me a better singer and successful performer because I had the strength of those records we made together always at my back.” A few of the intimate and hauntingly beautiful songs performed were “Wayfaring Stranger”, “If I Be Lifted Up”, and “If I Could Only Win Your Love”.
The star-studded event benefited the restoration of Ahern’s Enactron trailer, a mobile recording studio housed at the museum that Ahern originally designed and built in 1972 and was one of the first mobile recording studios used to record projects on location.
Seen attending the event were Musicians Hall of Famers J.I. Allison, Bruce Bouton, Sonny Curtis, Jim Horn, Jerry Kennedy, Chris Leuzinger and Bobby Wood. Also seen were Rodney Crowell, Steve Fishell, Tracy Gershon, Dave Pomeroy, Mac McAnally, Paul Kennerly, Ken Levitan, Karl Braun, Mary Martin, Bonnie Garner, Bob Hunka, Peter Cooper, Jed Hilly, Rick Clark, Dwight Wiles, Diana Johnson, Kay West, Don Cusic, Buddy Cannon, Woody Bomar, Donivan Cowart, and Brad Hartman, to name a few.
