Multi-Platinum Recording Artists Sugarland and Shinedown Just Announced
to Join Pearl Jam, Michael Phelps and More for Live Two-Hour Broadcast
on Sunday, September 9 at 7:00 a.m. (EST/CST/PST)
The special, which marks the start of National Suicide Prevention Week, will be led on-air by BJ Shea, on-air personality for 99.9 KISW (KISW-FM) in Seattle, and will welcome medical experts, musicians and celebrities connected to the cause to share personal stories. Listeners will have the opportunity to participate via a live call-in option and interactive website.
“While I had a lot of success in the swimming pool, I also struggled with anxiety and depression so I understand how difficult it can be for people to address mental health challenges. In sharing my own journey, I would like to help people understand that it’s ok to not be ok, and that asking for help isn’t a sign a weakness but rather a sign of strength and courage. For me, seeking therapy changed my life and I’m honored to be a part of Entercom’s “I’m Listening” campaign in support of National Suicide Prevention Week. Together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and build a community of support for all,” said Michael Phelps, Olympic swimmer and 23-time gold medal winner.
Tune-In to all Entercom radio stations nationwide and station livestreams on Radio.com on Sunday, September 9 at 7:00 a.m. (local time zone).
Guests scheduled to join the program include Dr. Chris Nowinski, co-founder and executive director of Concussion Legacy Foundation; Dr. Ursula Whiteside, clinical psychologist, CEO of NowMattersNow.org; Mike McCready and Stone Gossard, Pearl Jam; Michael Phelps, Olympic swimmer and 23-time gold medal winner; Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park; Alessia Cara, Grammy Award-winning artist; Bebe Rexha; Charlie Puth; Stone Temple Pilots; Brantley Gilbert; Lzzy Hale, Halestorm; Stephan Jenkins, Third Eye Blind; Sugarland; Shinedown; and Conor Mason, Nothing But Thieves, among others.
