FIRST ARTIST SIGNED TO CODY JINKS’ NEW LABEL
HEADLINE SHOWS CONFIRMED IN CLEVELAND,
NASHVILLE, LOUISVILLE AND MORE
Emerging singer, songwriter and musician Erin Viancourt’s highly anticipated debut album, Won’t Die This Way, is out today via Late August Records—the first artist signed to the new label founded and led by Cody Jinks. Steam/purchase HERE.
Already receiving critical acclaim, Holler declares, “It took exactly 26 seconds for us to fall in love with Erin Viancourt…Won’t Die This Way is the kind of record that will sit on your stereo for months on end…it’s as sharp and energizing as Waylon Jennings but as sugary and soothing as Norah Jones.” Additionally, Nashville Lifestyles praises, “Viancourt carries the creative DNA of an outlaw poet—and she puts it to good use…her mix of jangly country-rock and hard-nosed twang feels like strutting into a roadhouse time machine” and the Kingsport Times News proclaims, “a rowdy jukebox-jolting declaration of defiance.”
Produced by Viancourt and Kyle Dreaden, Won’t Die This Way is an engaging introduction to the free-spirited and full-hearted artist, as she blends her authentic songwriting and timeless voice with traditional country sounds. The new record consists of thirteen tracks including lead single, “Should’ve Known Better,” which is currently #9 on the American Country Music chart and #21 on the Texas Country Music chart, continuing to rise on both.
Having spent most of her career on the road, Viancourt will continue to tour through this summer including headline shows at Cleveland’s Beachland Ballroom, Louisville’s Zanzabar and Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley as well as select dates supporting Cody Jinks and The Steel Woods. See below for complete itinerary.
Reflecting on the record, Viancourt shares, “I hope this album makes people want to move around a dance floor with a cold beverage, sing at the top of their lungs with the windows down, and keep moving forward with whatever they’re looking for in life. Most of all I hope it reminds everyone that they’re not alone and we’re all a little crazy—so let’s all grow together and do it with style.”
Recorded at Nashville’s Forty-One Fifteen and The Smoakstack Won’t Die This Way features Viancourt (vocals, acoustic guitar), Mike Daly (Dobro, pedal steel), Jake Finch (drums, bongos, percussion), Jordan Harazin (12 String Guitar), Dylan Jones (keyboards), Jake Lenter (acoustic guitar, electric guitar), Alex Lyon (bass guitar), Austin “Hot Rod” Tripp (pedal steel) and Austin Webb (electric guitar, acoustic guitar, baritone electric guitar, electric mandolin) as well as songwriting collaborations with Jinks, Kendell Marvel, Ward Davis and more.
Raised in Cleveland, OH, Viancourt began writing songs as a teenager after finding inspiration from writers such as Jerry Jeff Walker and Shel Silverstein. After high school, she moved to Nashville to hone her skills as a songwriter and musician, before heading out on the road, where she’s since established herself as a natural live performer.
