This one’s for the girls! ACM and CMA nominated 90’s trio, McBride & The Ride, are back and better than ever with the second single from their forthcoming EP Marlboros & Avon, with “Along Comes A Girl.” Staying true to their country roots the track is a rocking mid-tempo with driving guitars, emotional lyrics, and those signature 3 part harmonies that we all know and love.
Just in time for International Women’s Day, McBride & The Ride shows their sentimental side with a tribute to the women in their life. “Along Comes A Girl” speaks to the different stages of life and what a blessing each one is. Between the three original members, Terry McBride, Billy Thomas, and Ray Herndon, each proudly sports the title of either dad, stepdad, or grandad, to daughters and granddaughters. Written by Terry McBride, Jon Nite, and Skip Black, the song was an easy one to pen in the writing room, as McBride is a father to 3 girls and confides that having all daughters absolutely changed his life.
The band is riding high off of their first single “Marlboros & Avon”, which is quickly climbing the charts on Texas Red Dirt & Country radio. The legendary station KOKE FM in Austin, TX has had the song at #1 for two weeks in a row. In addition to announcing their “Cool To Be Country” tour, which has dates in MN, IA, TX, IL, MO and OK, they have recently performed at the Grand Ole Opry and to a sold-out crowd at Bridgestone Arena for the Nashville Predators.
“We had no idea what to expect but we’re pleasantly surprised at the response to our first single from fans and radio stations,” McBride shares. “We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us as we prepare to release our second single.”
Produced by all three original members, their new EP is a mix of the McBride & The Ride sound we all know and love with updated arrangements that are made to translate live. If there’s any indication from these first two singles, it’s safe to say run, don’t walk, to see these guys in concert. Country fans can expect the full project to be released in early summer this year.
So glad these guys are back! Harmonies are as strong as ever!
Looks like another hit has arrived! Congratulations guys!!
