Exclusive Lyric Video Premiere: Sammy Sadler “If I Had A Cheating Heart”

Country fans hold the music of the ’80s and ’90s in a special place in their hearts – and rightfully so!  These two-decades included legends such as Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn as well as those who are still hitting the stage today – Exile, Alabama, Lee Greenwood, Reba, Dolly, and many, many more.  One such artist that is making sure that this era is only not forgotten but celebrated is Sammy Sadler.  Last month, Sammy released “If I Had A Cheating Heart” and today he’s exclusively premiering the lyric video with The Country Note.

Written by Wayland Holyfield (Anne Murray, Don Williams, Ronnie Milsap) and Al Turney (Mel Street, Don Williams), “If I Had a Cheating Heart” was first recorded by Mel Street, earning him a Top 10 hit in 1978.  Fifteen years later, the song returned to the charts when Ricky Lynn Gregg’s reedition hit the Top 40.  Now, it’s Sammy’s turn.

“‘If I Had A Cheating Heart’ is one of those classic country songs that tells a story a lot of folks can relate to—even if they’ve never lived it,” says Sadler. “I’m proud to bring it to life in this new lyric video and keep sharing the kind of music that’s always meant something to me.”
