On Friday (11/1), Like Bam Records artist Brooke McBride is set to release her debut EP Coming Clean – a collection of six tracks that showcase the North Carolina native’s rich vocals and cleverly written lyrics. McBride gave her fans a glimpse of what’s to come with the release of the lead single “One More” this past September and today she’s giving them another preview with the music video of the title track premiering exclusively with The Country Note.
The simplistic instrumentation of acoustic guitar at the start of the song sets a lonely ambiance while McBride’s range in vocals shine as she brings such relateable and heartbreaking lyrics to life:
“Why do they call it coming clean
if it just makes a mess again?”
“I wrote this song as a cheating song, but the hook can pertain to so many different aspects of life,” says McBride. “There’s something so powerful yet so simplistic in that line; it’s one of the reasons I chose to make it the title track.”
